TRINITY CAMP

Memories of June 18-24, 2017!

Andrew Camp camp 17 campfire2017

Trinity Church Camp has been an integral part of our community and youth program since 1912.  In 2014, the camp returned to the Santa Monica YMCA Camp Big Bear. This was Trinity Camp's home from 1977 to 2008.  The location provides a large waterfront on Boulder Bay for kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, pedal boats, canoes, and lake front swimming. Land activities include gaga ball, archery, basketball, Ping-Pong, arts and crafts, volleyball, horseshoes, and Frisbee golf.  A pool heated to a comfortable 80 degrees is available to campers.  The longevity of Trinity Camp has been made possible by the generous support of the parishioners at Trinity.

Music provided by Jeff Rickard since 1980 and Patty Burchell since 1984!  It has been their dedication to sharing their great talents that all campers are provided immeasurable joy and leadership in the camp's worship and campfire activities.  Traditions of songs, campfire skits are just two gems of Trinity Camp!  Jeff Rickard, with his "cookie monster" personality, boom-chick-a -boom cheer, and organization of the annual Ping-Ping tournament, has been a motivating force for over three decades to all at camp, no matter what age!

"This year Trinity Camp is celebrating its 104rd anniversary and will be held from Sunday June 19 to Saturday June 25, 2016.  It's a great time for all children ages 7 to 15 to experience a week of Christian fellowship.  The camp site has land games, archery, canoeing, volleyball and much more. Every day starts with a theme based activity and moves onto daily Eucharist, which includes the children acting out the gospel readings, singing and dancing.  There is plenty of time for the children to do arts and crafts, join other campers in board games, and hang out at the water front.  The day ends with a camp fire which includes skits provided by the campers and more singing.  It's a great week of fun and creating wonderful memories."

Each year camp provides wonderful opportunities for children of all ages to celebrate God's love in community.
